I’m writing this post a bit early because this Friday I’ll be out on a boat in the French Riviera. God I can’t even begin to explain how good it feels to be traveling again and to escape the world for a little bit. I took a bit of a social media detox earlier this week and locked myself out of my social apps. It felt a bit weird to be cut off from the world. But at the same time, I’m fully aware the world will be there when I tune back in.
Been spending the week here in Antibes waking up early and going for a swim. I’m not usually a big swimmer, but it’s such a good workout and a great excuse to get some early sun. Things for Jon and I have mostly consisted of eating pasta and drinking rosé in the sun. Honestly I wish we could stay here for a whole month.
It’s really interesting to be down here in the French Riviera right now. It doesn’t really feel like COVID is a thing anymore. Even though I’m very aware that it is still impacting so many lives. Things are pretty normal. Restaurants are all outdoor seating, but that’s usually how things are down here. There are plenty of tourists, and lunches and dinners get fairly full. No mask requirements. Although you do see a good amount of elderly walking around in masks, which makes sense with the older population.

FRIDAY FAVORITES: ROUND 3, WEEK 25 & 26
For all my EU readers, this dress has been selling like hotcakes from my recent Instagram post. It’s seriously the most adorable dress and très chic. It’s not available in the US yet (trust me I’m checking regularly). But this one is similar and also so adorable.
I’ve been wearing this easy dress (EU link) quite regularly in Antibes. It’s loose (size down!) and flowy enough to wear in the heat. I snapped up the white before it sold out, but this dress is also really similar if you’re set on white.
If you love wine like I do, this podcast is such a great resource. The way they talk about wine is really easy to understand. I listened to the episode on Provence before heading to the South of France.
During the summer, I hate heat styling my hair. First because it makes me too hot and second because it’s a good excuse to give my hair a break. This (EU link) is my favorite product for ensuring my air dried hair actually looks good and not a frizzy mess.
One of the trends that has come out of the pandemic is the athletic shorts trend. Wear them with an unbuttoned white shirt or an athletic top. This pair (EU link) is my favorite.
Been reading this book at the beach this week. It’s great if you want an easy read and like Scott Fitzgerald or Great Gatsby.
